about

artist statement

I work with textile art, which I treat not only as a medium but also as a starting point and an active co-creator of the work. I often use found materials, remnants, textile waste, and fibres. It is these materials that largely determine the final form of the piece — they influence composition, colour, texture, and often even the subject itself. The creative process emerges from a dialogue with matter rather than from a pre-imposed form.

My works function as a kind of passage — a liminal space between worlds: inner and outer, symbolic and bodily, individual experience and something more universal. I am interested in the motif of the threshold, understood broadly as a site of transformation and change. I refer to transitional spaces present in different cultures, including the idea of the torii — a symbolic gate separating the everyday from what is sacred or transformative.

In my practice, I explore the theme of initiation — understood both as entering experiences of motherhood and adulthood, and as a process of deepening self-awareness. I am interested in bodily consciousness, its limitations, as well as the process of accepting one’s shadow. My work becomes a tool for examining the full spectrum of experience: from tenderness and intimacy to tension, fear, and transformation.
