The work is my personal interpretation of the myth of Inanna. In Sumerian iconography, the goddess is often depicted in the company of lions — symbols of strength, power, and wildness. Here, however, I relocate her into a different element. I place her in the middle of an endless ocean, accompanied by sea lions — alert, fluid beings moving between surface and depth. sea lion

She descends into the depths and returns. Not as a triumphant figure, but as one who has passed through darkness — free, untamed, both protective and threatening. The ocean is here both tomb and womb. A place of dissolution and birth. It becomes a space of transition: purification, but also chaos that cannot be subdued. The point is not to master it, but to learn how to endure within it.
