The Morning Star and the Evening Star — in reality the planet Venus — were for a long time believed to be two separate celestial bodies. From this misconception emerged the myth of the Sumerian goddess Inanna (Ishtar), symbolising the dual nature of womanhood.

Each of us, according to Jungian theory, must come to terms with our shadow. We are an indivisible whole, composed of contradictions. A woman functions most fully when she does not repress any part of herself, but allows these aspects to coexist.

The titular stars surround irises — which, in the language of flowers, signify hope, wisdom, faith, and good news. Their presence underscores a harmony that arises from the acceptance of one’s own nature in all its complexity.
