follow the white rabbit
2025
reclaimed fabrics, embroidery floss, threads, painting loom
45 × 45 cm, tondo

The work presents the forest as a primordial space, older than any social order. It is not merely a backdrop, but a zone of passage — a site of mystery, lovers’ trysts, and initiation, as in the story of Tristan and Iseult. Intimacy here is not provocative; it is a natural experience of entering the unknown.

The rabbit — an archetypal harbinger of transition — leads toward an experience that requires relinquishing control. Three white rabbits, placed on different planes of the composition, remain indifferent to the scene unfolding nearby. Nature does not respond. It receives the lovers without judgement, allowing them to exist in accordance with desire and impulse. It becomes a refuge from the contemporary world — a space exempt from evaluation and surveillance.
